Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel mentioned being fond of Philippine durians during her visit to Thailand, as she hosted parts of the recently concluded Miss Universe 2025.
The Filipino-American beauty queen reposted an Instagram Story of an online user who noticed her remark about loving durian from her father’s home country.
The Instagram user shared a clip from the half-Pinay’s YouTube vlog, which documented her hosting stints in the 74th edition of Miss Universe.

In the clip, R’Bonney expressed her delight upon finding durian while strolling through an area in Thailand filled with food stalls.
“I’m a happy girl because I’ve found durian and it’s good,” the beauty queen said in her vlog with a sing-song voice.
“I was worried because the last durian was in the Philippines, in Iligan, and it was the best durian of my life,” she added.
“This is not as good, but, it’s still delicious,” the half-Pinay said, gesturing to the durian snack she was holding.
R’Bonney was one of the hosts of Miss Universe 2025, which saw Mexico’s Fatima Bosch Fernandez taking home the crown.
Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo finished as third runner-up and won the Best in National Costume award.

In September, R’Bonney traveled to Iligan City for Miss Iligan 2025.
Aside from attending the local pageant, she also explored the city by visiting Tinago Falls, Mimbalot Falls and the Sikyop Underground Caves, as well as enjoying some durian.
Last July, R’Bonney shared her fondness for the tropical fruit known for its distinctive smell.
“It’s okay… I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but the smell doesn’t really bother me,” the half-Pinay previously said.
Durian is a spiky tropical fruit indigenous to Southeast Asia.
It is known for its signature smell, often described as resembling sulfur, blue cheese or mature camembert.
Inside, the fruit contains a soft, custard-like pulp that is sweet with nutty, creamy, and vanilla notes.
