Bali Dubbed World’s Third-best Island to Travel; Here’s the Complete Top 10 List

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Bali has been dubbed the third-best island in Travel+Leisure World’s Best Awards 2024. Bali’s pristine beaches and clear waters make it an ideal place for relaxation and rejuvenation, with an exhaustive list of exciting activities, from surfing and snorkeling to attending traditional festivals and sampling local cuisine.

Called the “Island of the Gods”, Travel+Leisure says that Bali’s rich heritage can be experienced through traditional ceremonies, ancient temples, and intricate dance performances. Travel+Leisure readers also praised the Balinese people and the value for money because holidays on the island are relatively cheap for foreign tourists.

One reader wrote that Bali has “great beach, great food, good hospitality.”

Maldives Ranked First

Maldives was ranked first as the world’s best island for travel. Located in the Indian Ocean, along the equator, this archipelago has 1,192 islands with only 200 of them currently inhabited.

A Travel+Leisure reader wrote that “the location is just as beautiful as every picture you have seen.”

“The marine life there is beyond expectation,” another reader wrote.

The Maldives is home to about three percent of the planet’s coral reefs and its biodiversity makes it a top snorkeling and diving destination. People call the Maldives “Paradise on Earth.”

Unexpected Top 3

Between the Maldives and Bali is an emerging tourist destination. This island in Vietnam was awarded as the second-best island in the World’s Best Awards 2024 by Travel+Leisure Magazine.

This island is located off the west coast of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand. Many beaches in Southeast Asia are developed, but Phu Quoc maintains its tranquility. However, you don’t have to worry about accommodations as the islands have a list of indulgent hotels.
